The U.S. income tax system can be confusing.  Taxes are due each year on April 15 for wages earned in the previous calendar year. In late February, DISSA will email you instructions on how to file your taxes. 

Do you work?  If so, you have income to report: 

If you work, you must file appropriate tax forms.  DISSA will provide a password for you to use tax filing software, but can not provide tax advice. The software will walk you through the process of filing your taxes.   

If not, you are exempt: 

If you do not work, you must complete a Form 8843 the first five years you are in the U.S.
